PCFolders Support

PC-style file browsing for Mac users who prefer a folder tree, editable path bar, details view, right-click actions, and familiar shortcuts.

Getting Started

Open PCFolders.
Use the left sidebar to choose Documents, Downloads, Pictures, Music, Desktop, Applications, Home, Macintosh HD, or another available local location.
If macOS asks for permission, choose the same folder in the system picker to grant access.
Use the folder tree, editable path bar, details table, and right-click menu to browse and manage files.

Common Shortcuts

Ctrl+C: copy selected file operation.
Ctrl+X: cut selected file for moving.
Ctrl+V: paste into the current folder.
Ctrl+N / Ctrl+W: open or close a PCFolders window.
Ctrl+Shift+N: create a new folder.
Ctrl+Shift+C: copy quoted full paths.
Ctrl+Shift+I: invert the visible selection.
Space / Ctrl+Space / Shift+Space / Ctrl+Shift+Space: select, toggle, or extend the focused row.
F2: rename.
Delete: move to Trash.
Enter: open the selected item or selected items.
Alt+Enter: open Properties.
Alt+Up: open parent folder.
Alt+Home / Alt+Left / Alt+Right: home, back, and forward.
Ctrl+L: focus the path bar.
Ctrl+F: focus search.
F5: refresh.

File Access

PCFolders opens into a This PC-style view and can browse standard local locations, granted folders, and local mounted volumes that macOS allows. For protected folders, macOS may ask you to grant access through the system folder picker.

PCFolders does not require an account and does not upload file names, paths, metadata, or contents.
